Cyber Deterrence and Response Act of 2018
This bill establishes a process to identify and impose sanctions against foreign persons, entities, and countries responsible for state-sponsored cyberattacks against the United States.
The President may impose financial, export, and entry sanctions against foreign nations that have aided or directed such cyberattacks or may waive such sanctions on a case-by-case basis for up to a year.
The President shall periodically brief Congress on state-sponsored cyber activities against the United States.
