To amend title 5, United States Code, to provide that civilian service as a temporary employee after December 31, 1988, may be creditable service under the Federal Employees Retirement System, and for other purposes.
Federal Retirement Fairness Act
This bill modifies the federal civilian service that is creditable service under the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS).
Specifically, it allows service as a temporary or intermittent employee performed after December 1, 1988, to be creditable under FERS if an employee or Member deposits a certain amount into the retirement fund.
