To amend the Defense Production Act of 1950 to require national security reviews carried out by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States to take into account the potential effects of covered transactions on personally identifiable information.
Safeguarding American Personal Information and Investment Act or the Safeguarding American PII Act
This bill amends the Defense Production Act of 1950 to require national security reviews by the Committee on Foreign Investment to take into account whether the merger, acquisition, or takeover could expose the personally identifiable information of U.S. persons in a manner that threatens national security.
