Truck, Trailer, and Transport Efficiency Act of 2017
This bill removes trailers that do not emit greenhouse gases in connection with a propulsion system from the scope of the final rule titled "Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Fuel Efficiency Standards for Medium- and Heavy-Duty Engines and Vehicles--Phase 2." The Environmental Protection Agency and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration jointly issued the rule, which created fuel consumption standards and carbon dioxide emission standards for heavy-duty vehicles (e.g., tractors, trucks, vans, and vocational vehicles), on October 25, 2016.
