To amend the National Security Act of 1947 to provide for congressional notification of disclosures of top secret information to certain foreign countries, and for other purposes.
Prevention and Oversight of Intelligence Sharing with Enemies Act or the POISE Act
This bill amends the National Security Act of 1947 to require the President to provide the congressional intelligence committees with information about any disclosure of top secret information to a foreign country's government official, agent, or representative if the foreign country is a state sponsor of terrorism or is subject to economic sanctions by the United States.
"Top secret" applies to information that when subject to unauthorized disclosure could be reasonably expected to cause exceptionally grave damage to the national security that the original classification authority is able to identify or describe.
