A bill to require the Secretary of Agriculture to establish a program to recognize farms that have been in continuous operation for 100 years.
Century Farms Act of 2016
This bill requires the Department of Agriculture (USDA) to establish a program to recognize: (1) any farm that a state department of agriculture or similar statewide agricultural organization recognizes as a Century Farm, or (2) a farm or ranch that has been operated continuously and owned by the same family for at least 100 consecutive years. In recognizing farms under this bill, USDA must give preference to small farms.
