To amend title 14, United States Code, to authorize the Secretary of the department in which the Coast Guard is operating to enter into certain contracts for the acquisition of vessels for the Coast Guard, and for other purposes.
Coast Guard Acquisition Improvement Act of 2016
This bill authorizes the U.S. Coast Guard to enter into certain agreements for the acquisition of at least three heavy polar icebreakers, three medium polar icebreakers, four offshore patrol cutters, and five fast response cutters.
