To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to establish a criminal penalty for an alien who lacks lawful immigration status and is present in the United States, and for other purposes.
Interior Immigration Enforcement Act
This bill amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to provide that an alien who is 18 or older, knowingly lacks lawful immigration status, and is present in the United States shall be fined and/or imprisoned for not more than six months for the first such offense and for not more than two years for a subsequent offense.
