This bill requires the Department of Health and Human Services to provide information to prescribers in federally qualified health centers and Indian Health Service facilities on best practices for prescribing naloxone (a prescription drug used to rapidly reverse an opioid overdose) for patients a provider identifies as having an elevated risk of opioid overdose. (Opioids are drugs with effects similar to opium, such as heroin and certain pain medications.)
