To amend the Trade Act of 1974 to exclude from eligibility for the generalized system of preferences any country that fails to effectively enforce its environmental laws or meet its international environmental obligations, and for other purposes.
Earth Act
This bill amends the Trade Act of 1974 to revise requirements under the General System of Preferences (GSP).
The President shall not designate a foreign country as a beneficiary developing country eligible for preferential treatment under the GSP if it fails to enforce effectively its environmental laws or meet its international environmental obligations, including as they relate to public health.
