To amend the Public Health Service Act to foster more effective implementation and coordination of clinical care for people with pre-diabetes, diabetes, and the chronic diseases and conditions that result from diabetes.
National Clinical Care Commission Act
(Sec. 2) This bill amends the Public Health Service Act to establish within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) the National Clinical Care Commission to evaluate and recommend solutions regarding better coordination and leveraging of federal programs that relate to supporting clinical care for individuals with a complex metabolic or autoimmune disease, diabetes, or complications caused by such a disease.
The duties of the commission include:
The commission must submit an operating plan to HHS and Congress within 90 days of its first meeting. The commission is terminated at the end of FY2019.
