To require a report from the Comptroller General of the United States regarding implementation of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, and for other purposes.
1986 Amnesty Transparency Act - Directs the Comptroller General (GAO) to submit a report to Congress on the implementation of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 that includes information regarding: (1) implemented employer requirements; (2) federal enforcement of laws prohibiting hiring unlawful or unauthorized aliens; (3) the number of individuals denied employment; (4) sanctioned employers; (5) border enforcement mechanisms that were enhanced to prevent illegal immigration; (6) visa overstays; (7) added costs through social benefits provided to unlawfully present aliens; (8) the Act's impact on U.S. workers, including wages and unemployment; (9) the Act's implementation costs; and (10) fraud rates, including fraudulent amnesty claims.
