To direct the Secretary of Defense to submit a report to Congress on the future availability of TRICARE Prime throughout the United States and to ensure that certain TRICARE beneficiaries retain access to a primary care provider, and for other purposes.
TRICARE Protection Act - Directs the Secretary of Defense to report to the congressional defense committees setting forth Department of Defense (DOD) policy on the future availability of TRICARE Prime (a DOD managed health care program) for eligible beneficiaries in all TRICARE regions.
Directs the Secretary to: (1) identify beneficiaries whom the Secretary determines will not retain primary care provider access under newly awarded TRICARE contracts, and (2) implement a plan to ensure that such beneficiaries will retain access that meets TRICARE access standards.
