Supports the designation of May 2, 2009, as Vietnamese Refugees Day to: (1) commemorate the arrival of Vietnamese refugees in the United States; (2) document their harrowing experiences and subsequent achievements in their new homeland; (3) honor the host countries that welcomed the boat people; and (4) recognize the voluntary agencies and nongovernmental organizations that facilitated their resettlement and assimilation into U.S. society.
