To amend the District of Columbia Home Rule Act to reduce the waiting period for holding special elections to fill vacancies in the membership of the Council of the District of Columbia.
Amends the District of Columbia Home Rule Act to reduce from 114 to 70 days after a vacancy occurs the timing for special elections to fill a vacancy in: (1) the Office of the Chairman of the Council of the District of Columbia; (2) the DC Council of a member elected from a ward or elected at large; and (3) the Office of Mayor of the District.
