A bill to increase the number of Iraqi and Afghani translators and interpreters who may be admitted to the United States as special immigrants.

Amends the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2006 to authorize special immigrant status for certain Afghan or Iraqi translators or interpreters working with the U.S. Armed Forces or federal agencies under the Chief of Mission in Afghanistan and Iraq. (Currently, such status is authorized for Afghan and Iraqi translators working with U.S. Armed Forces in Afghanistan and Iraq.)
Authorizes: (1) additional FY2007-FY2008 entrants (up to 500 annually); and (2) adjustment to permanent resident status.
Referred to the Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, Refugees, Border Security, and International Law.
Placed on the Union Calendar, Calendar No. 94.
