To reiterate the authority of the United States Armed Forces to use riot control agents as a legitimate, legal, and non-lethal alternative to the use of lethal force under the general rules of engagement in effect for contingency operations of the Armed Forces conducted outside of the United States.
Save the Lives of Americans in Close Combat Act of 2007 - Expresses the policy of the United States that: (1) riot control agents are not chemical weapons, but rather legitimate, legal, and non-lethal alternatives to the use of lethal force; and (2) members of the Armed Forces may use such agents under the general rules of engagement in effect for a contingency operation conducted outside of the United States.
