Condemns the assassination of Rafiq Hariri, the former Prime Minister of Lebanon, and extends condolences to Prime Minister Hariri's family and the people of Lebanon.
Supports United Nations (UN) Security Council Resolution 1559 calling for the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Lebanon.
Urges the President to: (1) seek a UN Security Council resolution creating an independent investigation into the assassination; and (2) consider imposing sanctions under the Syria Accountability and Lebanese Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2003.
Supports the call of the Lebanese people for an end to Syria's presence in Lebanon, and for free, internationally-monitored elections.
