To prohibit the manufacture, processing, possession, or distribution in commerce of the poison sodium flouroacetate (known as "Compound 1080"), to provide for the collection and destruction of remaining stocks of sodium flouroacetate, to compensate persons who turn in sodium flouroacetate to the Secretary of Agriculture for destruction, and for other purposes.
Sodium Fluoroacetate Elimination Act - Amends the Toxic Substances Control Act to prohibit the manufacture, processing, possession, or distribution in commerce of sodium fluoroacetate (known as Compound 1080).
Directs the Secretary of Agriculture to: (1) provide for the collection and destruction of remaining stocks of sodium fluoroacetate; and (2) compensate those (excepting a federal agency) transferring sodium fluoroacetate to the Secretary within 18 months of enactment.
Amends federal criminal law to subject a person to fine or imprisonment for possession of sodium fluoroacetate.
