Welcomes the first democratically-elected President of Afghanistan, His Excellency Hamid Karzai, as an honored guest and friend upon his May 2005 visit to the United States.
Expresses the sense of Congress that: (1) a democratic and prosperous Afghanistan is a vital U.S. security interest; and (2) a strategic partnership between the United States and Afghanistan should continue to be a primary objective of both countries.
