A BILL
To authorize the expansion of the pilot program of the Department of
Veterans Affairs on assisted living for veterans to include three
additional health care regions of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. EXPANSION OF PILOT PROGRAM OF DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS
ON ASSISTED LIVING FOR VETERANS.
Section 103(b) of the Veterans Millennium Health Care and Benefits
Act (Public Law 106-117; 113 Stat. 1552; 38 U.S.C. 1710B note) is
amended--
(1) by striking ``Location of Pilot Program.--'' and
inserting ``Locations of Pilot Program.--(1)''; and
(2) by adding at the end the following new paragraph:
``(2)(A) In the addition to the health care region of the
Department selected for the pilot program under paragraph (1), the
Secretary may also carry out the pilot program in not more than three
additional designated health care regions of the Department selected by
the Secretary for purposes of this section.
``(B) Notwithstanding subsection (f), the authority of the
Secretary to provide services under the pilot program in a health care
region of the Department selected under subparagraph (A) shall cease on
the date that is three years after the commencement of the provision of
services under the pilot program in the health care region.''.
