Recognizes the Foreign Agricultural Service of the Department of Agriculture (FAS) and its employees and partners, on the occasion of its 50th anniversary, for: (1) leading the U.S. agricultural community in developing and expanding export markets for U.S. agricultural commodities and products; (2) identifying the private partners capable of carrying out its mission; (3) providing international food assistance; (4) addressing unfair barriers to U.S. agricultural exports; (5) implementing strict procedures governing the use and evaluation of FAS programs and funds; and (6) overseeing the efficient and effective use of Federal funds to carry out FAS programs.
Referred to the Committee on Agriculture, and in addition to the Committee on International Relations, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
