S. 778 — Immigration Extension bill

Summary

Section 245(i) Extension Act of 2001 - Amends the Immigration and Nationality Act, respecting petitions for certain illegal aliens seeking to adjust to permanent resident status without leaving the United States, to: (1) extend the filing deadline for certain alien children, spouses, and employees to April 30, 2002 ; and (2) extend eligibility to certain alien beneficiaries of a labor certification or a petition for classification that was filed after January 14, 1998, and who demonstrate that the required familial or employment relationship existed as of the date of enactment of this Act.
