Cybersecurity Research and Education Act of 2002

Cybersecurity Research and Education Act of 2002 - Authorizes the Director of the National Science Foundation to award: (1) graduate fellowships for doctoral studies and research in cybersecurity; (2) grants to institutions of higher education to enable faculty members who are teaching cybersecurity subjects to spend a sabbatical working at the National Security Agency, the Department of Defense, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, a research laboratory supported by the Department of Energy, or a qualified institution; and (3) grants to qualified institutions for activities related to acquiring cybersecurity infrastructure.

Authorizes the Director of the National Security Agency to award grants to qualified institutions for cybersecurity awareness, training, and education programs, including centers for studies and centers for faculty development.

Directs the Comptroller General to study, collect data, and report on the cybersecurity workforce and on academic cybersecurity research facilities.
