To authorize the Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor, and for other purposes.
Establishes: (1) the Medal of Valor Review Board to select and recommend candidates as Medal recipients; and (2) a national medal of valor office within the Department of Justice.
Authorizes appropriations.
Amends the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974 to establish the Secretary's Award For Distinguished Public Safety Service to be awarded by the Secretary of Commerce for outstanding and distinguished service by public safety officers.
