H.R. 2826 — To increase the waiver requirement for certain local matching requirements for grants provided to American Samoa, Guam, the Virgin Islands, or the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and for other purposes.

Summary

Amends Federal law to require U.S. agencies with respect to the award of grants to American Samoa, Guam, the Virgin Islands, and the Northern Mariana Islands to waive: (1) the entire local matching fund requirement, if any, for grants of $500,000 or less (including in-kind contributions); and (2) $500,000 of any local matching fund requirement for grants of more than $500,000 (including in-kind contributions).

Requires the Secretary of the Interior to report to specified congressional committees on the results of a study of the implementation of amendments made by this Act.
