A BILL
To allow the Secretary of Agriculture to use existing authorities to
provide export promotion assistance for tobacco and tobacco products of
the United States.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Tobacco Export Marketing Enhancement
Act''.
SEC. 2. AGRICULTURAL EXPORT PROGRAM FOR TOBACCO.
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Secretary of
Agriculture may exercise the authorities of section 203 (relating to
the market access program) and title VII (relating to the foreign
market development cooperator program) of the Agricultural Trade Act of
1978 (7 U.S.C. 5623 and 5713 et seq.) to provide assistance for the
development, maintenance, and expansion of foreign markets for tobacco
and tobacco products of the United States.
