Prosecution Drug Treatment Alternative to Prison Act of 2001

Prosecution Drug Treatment Alternative to Prison Act of 2001 - Amends the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to authorize the Attorney General to make grants to State or local prosecutors for the purpose of developing, implementing, or expanding drug treatment alternative to prison programs under which eligible offenders, as an alternative to incarceration, shall be sentenced to or placed with a licensed residential substance abuse treatment provider.

Requires: (1) each eligible offender who participates in such a program but does not successfully complete treatment to serve a sentence of imprisonment for the underlying crime; and (2) each program to have an enforcement unit comprised of law enforcement officers under the supervision of a State or local prosecutor.
