A BILL
To amend title 5, United States Code, to establish Flag Day as a legal
public holiday.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. ESTABLISHMENT OF FLAG DAY AS A LEGAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY.
(a) In General.--Section 6103(a) of title 5, United States Code, is
amended by inserting after ``Memorial Day, the last Monday in May.''
the following undesignated paragraph:
``Flag Day, June 14.''.
(b) Effective Date.--The amendment made by subsection (a) shall
apply to calendar years beginning after December 31, 2001.
