Realistic Tests for Realistic Threats National Security Act of 2001

Realistic Tests for Realistic Threats National Security Act of 2001 - Requires the Director of the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization of the Department of Defense to: (1) conduct at least one interceptor test of the Navy Theater-Wide system or the Theater High Altitude Area Defense system, or both, against a target missile with the flight characteristics of the Taepo Dong I missile of North Korea; and (2) modify plans for managing the development of either or both of such systems to conduct such testing.

Urges the Director to review changes in the configuration of the system chosen to: (1) increase the interceptor missile speed of that system to well in excess of three kilometers-per-second; and (2) allow such interceptor missile to receive and use targeting data provided by a variety of external sensors.
