Urges the President to: (1) sponsor a resolution at the United Nations (UN) Security Council to condemn the Sudanese Government and to demand an immediate end to slavery in Sudan; (2) establish a Slave Victims Fund; (3) use National Democratic Alliance of Sudan appropriations for FY 2001 to assist slave victims; and (4) mobilize international support to end slavery in Sudan.
Call on: (1) human rights organizations to facilitate safe passage for slavery victims to and from conflict zones in Sudan; and (2) the UN Commission on Human Rights, UNICEF, and the European Union to end the use of euphemisms, such as "abduction," as a substitute for slavery.
