A bill to amend title IV of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 to provide States with the option to allow legal immigrant pregnant women and children to be eligible for medical assistance under the medical program, and for other purposes.
Provides States with the option of extending Medicaid-eligibility to certain lawful resident alien pregnant women and children, as well as the option of extending SSA title XXI (Children's Health Insurance) eligibility to such children.
Amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to authorize a State to waive affidavit of support requirements for benefits provided through such State options.
