Long Island Sound Preservation and Protection Act

Long Island Sound Preservation and Protection Act - Amends Marine Protection, Research, and Sanctuaries Act of 1972 ocean dumping provisions to require, in addition to other provisions of law, that the transportation of dredged material from a dredging project over 25,000 cubic yards by a non-Federal applicant, any dredging project by a Federal applicant, or any Federal project for the purpose of dumping it into the waters of Long Island Sound (including Fisher's Island Sound) satisfy all ocean dumping requirements as if the Long Island Sound waters were ocean waters. (Current law requires, in addition to other provisions of law and notwithstanding a specific exclusion of dredged material, that the dumping of dredged material in Long Island Sound from any Federal project (or by Federal authorization) or from a dredging project by a non-Federal applicant over 25,000 cubic yards comply with ocean dumping requirements.)
