To amend section 4531(c) of the Balanced Budget Act of 1997 to permit payment for ALS intercept services furnished in areas other than rural areas, and for other purposes.
Medicare Paramedic Intercept Service Equity Act of 1999 - Amends the Balanced Budget Act of 1997 to permit payment for advanced life support services (ALS intercept services) furnished by a paramedic intercept service provider in non-rural as well as rural areas.
Amends title XVIII (Medicare) of the Social Security Act to exclude from computation of the ambulance fee schedule any payments attributable to this Act.
