To amend title II of the Social Security Act to ensure the integrity of the Social Security trust funds by requiring the Managing Trustee to invest such trust funds in marketable obligations of the United States.
Social Security Investments Act of 1999 - Amends title II (Old Age, Survivors and Disability Insurance) of the Social Security Act to revise provisions on the investment of the social security trust funds to require the Managing Trustee of the Board of Trustees of the Trust Funds (Federal Old-Age and Survivors Insurance Trust Fund and Federal Disability Insurance Trust Fund) (social security trust funds) to invest such funds only in marketable obligations consisting of interest-bearing obligations of the United States. Provides for the appropriate conversion of current obligations held by such funds after the enactment of this Act in accordance with the changes made above.
