Truth in Political Advertising Act - Prohibits an individual from disseminating, or causing to be disseminated, any false political advertisement by U.S. mails or by any means in or having an effect on commerce. Directs the Federal Trade Commission to impose a specified civil monetary penalty.
Shields certain media from liability for the dissemination of any false political advertisement, unless a Federal Trade Commission request for the name and post-office address of the person causing such dissemination is refused.
