Federal Agency Sunset Act of 1997 - Requires review of all Federal departments and agencies every seven years to determine if there is a continued need for the department, agency, or program. Sets forth requirements for the review procedure for the first review.
Prohibits, after the first review and for all subsequent reviews, authorizations of appropriations for an executive department, agency, or executive department or agency program which was reviewed from being enacted after the expiration of the time period for the subsequent review unless such review has been completed.
