A bill to reauthorize the Atlantic Striped Bass Conservation Act and the Anadromous Fish Conservation Act, and for other purposes.
Striped Bass Conservation Act Amendments of 1995 - Amends the Atlantic Striped Bass Conservation Act to authorize appropriations to carry out the Act.
Requires the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission to use specified procedures to ensure an adequate opportunity for public participation in the preparation of any Atlantic striped bass management plan.
Transfers to the Act a portion of a specified Federal law relating to Atlantic striped bass: (1) mandating regulations; (2) authorizing a fishery management plan; and (3) applying to the regulations and plan specified provisions of the Magnuson Fishery Conservation and Management Act.
Directs the Secretaries of Commerce and the Interior to cooperate with States and other non-Federal interests in conducting scientific studies of the anadromous stocks of Atlantic striped bass and to report annually to the Congress regarding the studies. Authorizes the Secretaries to enter into agreements with States and other non-Federal interests to conduct the studies or to conduct the studies directly. Authorizes appropriations.
Pursuant to the order of May 9, 1995, that if and when reported by the Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation the bill be referred to the Committee on Environment and Public Works for a period not to exceed 20 session days to report or be discharged and placed on the calendar.
