A bill to amend the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 to improve control of acid mine drainage, and for other purposes.
Acid Mine Drainage Abatement Act of 1995 - Amends the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 to authorize the States to set aside: (1) up to ten percent of their annual reclamation project construction and program administration grants solely for a special trust fund to redress public health and safety problems beyond FY 1995; and (2) up to the greater of $1 million or 30 percent for an acid mine drainage abatement and treatment trust fund.
Declares that a project funded out of such treatment fund shall provide for the abatement of the causes or the treatment of the effects of acid mine drainage from certain eligible lands and waters.
