A bill to direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services to revise existing regulations concerning the conditions of payment under part B of the medicare program relating to anesthesia services furnished by certified registered nurse anesthetists, and for other purposes.
Medicare Anesthesia Services Reform Act - Directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services to revise regulations for anesthesia services payment under Medicare to allow payment when they are furnished in a hospital or ambulatory surgical center by a certified registered nurse anesthetist permitted under applicable State law to administer them without physician or anesthesiologist supervision.
Amends title XVIII (Medicare) of the Social Security Act to provide for payment for physician and certified registered nurse anesthetist jointly furnished single case anesthesia services.
