Provides that during the two-year period beginning on the date of enactment of this Act: (1) the Office of Federal Investigations (Office) within the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) shall continue to perform all of its current functions on the day before enactment; and (2) the number of full-time equivalent positions within the Office may not be reduced in connections with any efforts to terminate such office or to privatize its functions.
Requires the General Accounting Office and OPM to report to the Congress on the feasibility and desirability of terminating the Office and privatizing its current Office functions.
