To provide for the manufacturer, importer, or dealer of a handgun or an assault weapon to be held strictly liable for damages that result from the use of the handgun or assault weapon.
Gun Violence Economic Equity Act of 1995 - Provides that any person suffering bodily injury or death as a result of the discharge of a handgun or an assault weapon may bring an action in U.S. district court against any manufacturer, importer, or dealer of a handgun or assault weapon.
Makes such defendants strictly liable for all direct and consequential damages that arise from such bodily injury or death, except when the injury: (1) is suffered while committing a felony; (2) is self-inflicted; or (3) is a result of a discharge by a law enforcement officer or a member of the armed forces in the line of duty.
