A bill to amend the Federal Water Pollution Control Act to authorize the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency to award grants to improve wastewater treatment for certain communities in the United States located close to the border between the United States and Mexico, and for other purposes.
Colonias Wastewater Treatment Act of 1993 - Amends the Federal Water Pollution Control Act to authorize the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency to award a grant for wastewater treatment to a community that meets eligibility requirements of this Act or a political subdivision of a State acting on behalf of such community.
Designates as an eligible community a community that: (1) is designated as a colonia and is located in the U.S.-Mexican border region; (2) is eligible to receive a grant on the basis of objective criteria; and (3) existed as a colonia before November 28, 1990.
Authorizes appropriations.
