To include additional exchange rate policy information in reports required to be made by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Secretary of the Treasury to the Congress, and for other purposes.
Exchange Rate Policy Reporting Act of 1994 - Amends the Federal Reserve Act to direct the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System (the Board) to report to certain congressional committees biannually and contemporaneously with the Secretary of the Treasury on the effect of monetary policy upon: (1) the exchange rate of the dollar; and (2) the status of currency swap agreements with any foreign entity.
Amends the Omnibus Trade and Competitiveness Act of 1988 to modify the Secretary's report to such committees to include: (1) the Secretary's objectives with respect to the exchange rate of the dollar; (2) a specified analysis of the exchange rate of the dollar; and (3) the status of currency swap agreements with any foreign entity.
Instructs the Secretary to report to the Congress within 24 hours if the Secretary intervenes, or directs the Board or any Federal Reserve Bank to intervene, in the currency markets.
