A BILL
To reduce the Speaker of the House's spending on salaries and expenses.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act shall be cited as the ``House Speaker's Staff Reduction
Act''.
SEC. 2. REDUCE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE'S SPENDING.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives appropriation for staff
salaries and expenses shall be reduced by 20 percent. This reduction
shall not be less than $280,000. A ceiling of $1,115,000 shall be
placed on the Speaker's spending for staff salaries and expenses. This
reduction shall begin in fiscal year 1995.
