Mr. Inglis of South Carolina introduced the following bill; which was

A BILL
To repeal the Davis-Bacon Act.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Davis-Bacon Abolition Act''.
SEC. 2. REPEAL.
The Act of March 3, 1931 (40 U.S.C. 276a--276a-5) (known as the
Davis-Bacon Act) is repealed.
SEC. 3. EFFECTIVE DATE.
The repeal made by section 2 shall take effect 5 days after the
date of the enactment of this Act. Such repeal shall not affect the
validity or continued operation of a contract entered into before the
date of the enactment of this Act.
