To impose certain requirements on the resolution of medical malpractice liability claims, to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to require persons making certain medical malpractice payments to report such payments to the Secretary of the Treasury, and for other purposes.
Medical Liability Improvement Act of 1993 - Sets forth provisions concerning, with respect to medical malpractice liability claims: (1) limitations on attorney's fees; (2) limitations on noneconomic damages; (3) the statute of limitations; (4) periodic payments for future losses; (5) mandatory offsets for damages paid by a collateral source; (6) certain obstetric services; (7) joint and several liability; and (8) preemption of inconsistent State law.
Amends the Internal Revenue Code to require the reporting of certain medical malpractice payments.
