Health Professional Shortage Area Amendments of 1993 - Amends the Public Health Service Act to add a certain percentage of the population being 65 years old or older to the indicators of need which must be taken into consideration in designating health professional shortage areas (HPSAs). Prohibits, for frontier areas, considering the travel time between population centers or to contiguous area resources.
Amends title XVIII (Medicare) of the Social Security Act to continue, for three months after withdrawal of the designation of an area as an HPSA, the additional payments mandated for services furnished in HPSAs.
