A bill to provide for the full settlement of all claims of Swain County, North Carolina, against the United States under the agreement dated July 30, 1943, and for other purposes.
Swain County Settlement Act of 1992 - Directs the Secretary of the Interior (Secretary) to make unappropriated funds for FY 1993 available for the completion of the road along the north shore of the Fontana Reservoir, North Carolina, pursuant to a specified agreement.
Directs the Secretary of the Treasury to pay, out of unappropriated funds for FY 1993, a specified sum to Swain County, North Carolina, in full and complete settlement of all claims against the United States, the Department of the Interior, and the Tennessee Valley Authority arising out of such agreement to compensate the county for the loss of a highway.
Authorizes appropriations to carry out this Act if necessary funds are not made available for FY 1993.
Requires the Secretary to allocate funds and personnel to place a suitable historical marker at or near the approach to the Cherokee Qualls Reservation at Soco Gap, North Carolina, in recognition of Soco Gap and the contribution of the Cherokee Nation to North Carolina and the United States.
