A bill to amend the Public Health Service Act to provide a comprehensive program for the prevention of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, and for other purposes.
Comprehensive Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Prevention Act - Amends the Public Health Service Act to establish: (1) a comprehensive program to prevent Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Fetal Alcohol Effects and coordinate related Federal efforts; and (2) an Inter-Agency Task Force on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Fetal Alcohol Effects.
Provides for related research, technical assistance, grants, cooperative agreements, and contracts, surveillance and prevention programs, professional and public education, and diagnostic criteria.
Authorizes appropriations.
